A little bit about Yanhong

I help business owners, professionals and international families make confident financial decisions, protect what matters most and build long‑term wealth for future generations. Having held senior corporate leadership roles and built businesses in management consulting and property investment, I bring a practical, commercially minded approach to financial planning. I advise on protection, pensions and retirement planning, investments, inheritance tax and estate planning, and school and university fees. I advise in English and Mandarin, with conversational Cantonese.

Based in the City of London and advising clients across Greater London and nationwide, I combine professional financial expertise with real‑world business and family experience. I understand the challenges clients face and provide clear, straightforward advice focused on helping them achieve the outcomes that matter most. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing clients feel in control of their finances, confident about the future and reassured that their money is working hard for them.

Investing can help your money grow over time, but the value of investments can go down as well as up.

Money needs a plan. Here’s where to start

Money doesn’t make decisions on its own. Left sitting in cash, it quietly loses value. That’s why money needs a plan. It’s not about being wealthy or knowing all the answers – it’s about giving your money direction. And in the UK, many people miss out simply because they don’t take that first step.

  • Most people in the UK save sporadically or leave money sitting in cash – missing out on growth.
  • Planning gives peace of mind. It turns uncertainty into clarity.
  • The earlier you start, the more powerful the impact – but it’s never too late.
  • Quilter’s purpose is to help build brighter financial futures. That starts with a plan.
  • Investing always carries risk. Investing can help your money grow over time, but the value of investments can go down as well as up.

Making your money work for you

Why investing matters

  • Lazy money loses value over time – inflation chips away at it.
  • Investing little and often helps your money grow without needing to be an expert.
  • A plan helps you stay focused and avoid reactive decisions.

Inflation and ‘lazy money’

  • Inflation quietly erodes the value of your savings.
  • £10,000 in cash today could be worth significantly less in 10 years.
  • Investing helps protect your money from inflation and grow it over time.

Yanhong's location

London
United Kingdom

Yanhong is located in London and offers expert financial advice to suit your needs.

My journey into financial planning began with my own questions. I came to the UK as an international student nearly 30 years ago and built my life and career here from the ground up. I understand the challenges of settling in a new country, learning how the UK tax system works, how to invest tax efficiently and how to make the right financial decisions at each stage of life.

These experiences underpin the practical and empathetic advice I provide today; they give me the insight to help clients make clear, confident decisions with a full understanding of the tax, investment and planning implications behind every choice.

I hold an MBA and the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) from the London Institute of Banking and Finance, and I am an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (ACSI). I also maintain up‑to‑date CPD in Consumer Vulnerability in Later Life through the Society of Later Life Advisers, which helps ensure I am mindful of the sensitivities and additional support some clients may need when discussing their financial circumstances. I advise in English and Mandarin, with conversational Cantonese.

Working Together

Financial planning is about your story, your ambitions and the future you want to build. Whether you are protecting your family, building a business, investing for long-term security, planning for retirement, supporting ageing parents or preparing for inheritance tax, I provide clear, structured advice tailored to your circumstances and your family’s long-term wellbeing.

How I Can Help

I provide holistic financial planning for individuals, families and business owners, including:

  • Personal and business protection
  • Pensions and retirement planning
  • Investment and wealth management
  • Inheritance tax and estate planning
  • School fees and university planning

Every plan begins with understanding your full picture. From there, I provide straightforward advice focused on the outcomes that matter most to you.

Outside Work

I am active in the civic and professional life of the City of London. I have served on the ITV Diversity Panel and the International Trade Committee, provided commentary for the BBC on international mobility and business culture and acted as a school governor. I also support the charitable and educational work of several City Livery Companies.

These roles keep me closely connected to the latest developments across the City and beyond, allowing me to bring up‑to‑date thinking, emerging trends and relevant policy insights directly into my clients’ financial planning.

In my spare time, you will often find me in concert halls, theatres and other cultural venues across London. With my children now young adults, I have more time to focus fully on my clients and the families I support.

Let’s Start the Conversation

Whether you are starting your career, protecting your family, building long‑term wealth, planning for retirement or looking to reduce a future inheritance tax bill, I would be pleased to help. I advise in English and Mandarin, offering clear, practical guidance tailored to your goals.

My business thrives on referrals, so if you know someone who could benefit from financial advice, I would appreciate you passing on my details.
