Money needs a plan. Here’s where to start

Money doesn’t make decisions on its own. Left sitting in cash, it quietly loses value. That’s why money needs a plan. It’s not about being wealthy or knowing all the answers – it’s about giving your money direction. And in the UK, many people miss out simply because they don’t take that first step.

  • Most people in the UK save sporadically or leave money sitting in cash – missing out on growth.
  • Planning gives peace of mind. It turns uncertainty into clarity.
  • The earlier you start, the more powerful the impact – but it’s never too late.
  • Quilter’s purpose is to help build brighter financial futures. That starts with a plan.
  • Investing always carries risk. Investing can help your money grow over time, but the value of investments can go down as well as up.

Making your money work for you

Why investing matters

  • Lazy money loses value over time – inflation chips away at it.
  • Investing little and often helps your money grow without needing to be an expert.
  • A plan helps you stay focused and avoid reactive decisions.

Inflation and ‘lazy money’

  • Inflation quietly erodes the value of your savings.
  • £10,000 in cash today could be worth significantly less in 10 years.
  • Investing helps protect your money from inflation and grow it over time.

Gill offers expert financial advice to suit your needs, covering Bromley, Croydon and surrounding areas.

Having experienced first-hand the difference good financial advice can make, I now help individuals, families and business owners make informed financial decisions and create plans that give them confidence about the future.

Whether you are approaching retirement, looking to organise your finances more effectively or simply want reassurance that you're on track, having a clear financial plan can help you make confident decisions about the future.

I believe that most people want confidence that their finances are organised and working towards the future they want. Whilst we can't predict what lies ahead, we can prepare for it through careful planning and informed decision-making.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and have volunteered with Girl Guiding for more than 30 years. I also serve as a Patient Safety Partner within an NHS Hospital Trust, helping to improve patient experiences and outcomes. Away from work, I enjoy music, sport and taking on new experiences.

Taking the first step, is often the hardest part. If you’d like to discuss your financial goals and see whether I can help, I’d be delighted to hear from you. It’s easy to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation and discover how a personalised financial plan could help you achieve your goals.
