Financial planning can often feel like an intimidating exercise, especially since we rarely talk openly about money in this country. But at its core, good financial planning isn't about complex jargon, pushing products, or spreadsheets (although I do like a good spreadsheet!). It is simply about giving you the clarity, confidence, and freedom to build the life you actually want to be living.
My approach to advice is grounded, practical, and entirely centred around your life. Before stepping into financial planning, I was an analyst in the energy sector, where I earned a PhD and advised top-level management on corporate strategies. I enjoyed the challenge of untangling complicated problems, but my perspective shifted as my family grew. I realized I wanted to use my analytical experience for something more meaningful: helping you navigate your own major life decisions and build a secure, resilient future. Quilter's core mission - to create brighter financial futures for every generation - is really closely aligned with my own reasons for making this career pivot.
Whether you are laying the groundwork for your family’s future, navigating a career pivot, or preparing for a comfortable retirement, my job is to translate complex tax rules and investment strategies into a straightforward, actionable plan.
Outside of work, my life in Chippenham revolves around my wife (who, as a psychologist, regularly reminds me that money is about human behaviour, not just maths!) and our young daughter. To recharge, you will usually find me logging miles on the local running routes or at the climbing wall.
