Spend wisely and save smartly

June can be one of the best months of the year with summer well and truly on the way. But with all those holidays, weddings, anniversaries, and other spending, it can also be one of the most expensive too.

While you should be focusing on the present, it’s also important to be aware of how major outlays now can have a significant impact on your financial security in later life. A cashflow model can give you a clear picture of the consequences your spending and saving can have on your future.

It’s also good to know about the ways you can use your tax-free allowances wisely on certain expenditures. For example, your gifting allowances can let you pass on up to £3,000 a year to your loved ones without it being added to the value of your estate.*

Together, we can make a plan to help you live your life to the full now, while still having the retirement you want later on.

Cheryl is based in Rochester and offers expert financial advice covering Medway towns, Kent, London and the South East of England.

I am a Financial Planning Consultant with a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, and I am also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), having previously worked as an accountant. This background gives me a strong understanding of personal and business finances, and I use this experience to help clients make decisions that feel clear, manageable and aligned with their goals.

My approach to advice is simple: avoid jargon, keep things straightforward, and focus on what really matters to you. As your adviser, my role is to make the process feel easy and supportive, not overwhelming. I am especially passionate about cashflow planning, because it helps clients see their financial future in a clear, visual way. It turns long term decisions into something real and understandable, helping you feel confident about the steps ahead. I also care deeply about financial education, ensuring you always understand your choices and feel empowered rather than unsure.

When we work together, you can expect a friendly, down to earth experience where your goals come first. I will always explain things in a way that feels accessible and relevant, helping you picture the benefits and make decisions with confidence.

Whether you are planning for retirement, navigating investments, reviewing protection needs, or simply wanting to get organised and take control of your finances, my goal is always the same: to provide clear, practical, and supportive advice that genuinely improves their financial wellbeing. I can also provide stand alone or more integrated advice about mortgages, whether it is your first home, upgrading, or downsizing.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and being part of the local Medway community, including a governor at my children’s primary school.

If you are looking for an adviser who values transparency, long term relationships, and empowering clients through knowledge, I would be delighted to help.
