Money needs a plan. Here’s where to start

Money doesn’t make decisions on its own. Left sitting in cash, it quietly loses value. That’s why money needs a plan. It’s not about being wealthy or knowing all the answers – it’s about giving your money direction. And in the UK, many people miss out simply because they don’t take that first step.

  • Most people in the UK save sporadically or leave money sitting in cash – missing out on growth.
  • Planning gives peace of mind. It turns uncertainty into clarity.
  • The earlier you start, the more powerful the impact – but it’s never too late.
  • Quilter’s purpose is to help build brighter financial futures. That starts with a plan.
  • Investing always carries risk. Investing can help your money grow over time, but the value of investments can go down as well as up.

Making your money work for you

Why investing matters

  • Lazy money loses value over time – inflation chips away at it.
  • Investing little and often helps your money grow without needing to be an expert.
  • A plan helps you stay focused and avoid reactive decisions.

Inflation and ‘lazy money’

  • Inflation quietly erodes the value of your savings.
  • £10,000 in cash today could be worth significantly less in 10 years.
  • Investing helps protect your money from inflation and grow it over time.

I'm based in Canterbury, Kent, CT1 1YP and serve the East Kent Area for in-person meetings. However, I'm able to offer advice nationally via remote Microsoft Teams meetings.

"A secure financial future isn't built on complex jargon; it's built on clear structures, trust, and understanding what you're truly working to protect."

My Approach:

Based in Canterbury, I provide trusted, face-to-face and digital financial planning to individuals, families and business owners.

Before transitioning into financial services, I served in the British Army and later ran my own successful local locksmith business. These experiences have taught me the value of hard work, reliability, and trust. A bone tumour changed the direction of my career. Navigating that period taught me first-hand the value of financial resilience, and it's what eventually led me into the financial planning profession.

Whether you are looking to simplify your family's personal wealth, protect your household, or structure your business efficiently, my focus is to provide straightforward, stress-free advice backed by the institutional strength and governance of Quilter.

How I Can Help You:

For Families & Individuals: I work collaboratively with you to bring complete clarity to your household wealth. From consolidating old pensions into one manageable view structuring tax-efficient investment and retirement strategies, we help you plan for your family's current and future lifestyle.

For Business Owners: Having run my own business, I understand the pressures directors face I help you structure business profits in a way that supports your long-term personal financial objectives — extracting corporate profits tax-efficiently, and structuring robust business protection such as Relevant Life and Key Person policies, aligning your business success with your long-term family goals.

Beyond the Desk:

Away from financial planning, I live locally with my wife, Mariam, and our dog, Barney.

We love spending time with family and dear friends. When we aren't out walking Barney, we enjoy travel and culture. I am also a passionate scuba diver and regularly explore dive sites both across the UK coast and overseas. I find that navigating a dive requires the same values that I bring to financial planning: teamwork, meticulous planning, calm decision-making, and keeping a very close eye on the environment around you.
