Financial Planning Consultant DipPFS in Moreton-in-Marsh

A little bit about Mikael

After 25 years in financial services, I’ve learned that good financial planning is rarely about products — it’s about bringing clarity and structure to complex financial lives. Much of my work involves advising business owners, entrepreneurs and company directors as they align their personal finances with the businesses they have built. I also support individuals and families who want a clear strategy for pensions, investments and long-term financial security.

Aim to maximise your cash savings

It might shock you to know that 28% of people hold their cash in interest-free savings accounts(1), receiving no return on their hard-earned money. Because under current rules a basic rate taxpayer can earn up to £1,000 in interest from their savings without paying tax, these people could be missing out on a significant financial boost that they could be enjoying.

This is even more relevant when you consider that the average person typically holds up to 25% of their available money on cash deposit(2). So, by reviewing your cash and tackling any ‘lazy money’, you’ll be making a great start at getting your finances in shape and achieving longer-term financial security.

If your money isn’t working as hard as it could, I can help. By making it easy to access potentially better interest rates, I can help you to aim to maximise your cash savings – giving you more money to spend on the things you enjoy or helping you grow your money towards a longer-term goal.

Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

  • The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute develops core technical and initial financial planning understanding.

After 25 years in financial services, one principle has remained constant: clarity creates confidence. Many of the clients I work with are professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners who have built successful careers but feel their financial arrangements have become fragmented over time. Pensions may sit in different schemes, investments may lack a clear strategy, and business and personal finances are often treated separately.

My role is to step back, understand the full picture and bring structure to it.

I specialise in holistic financial planning — aligning investments, pensions, tax planning, corporate solutions and protection within one coherent strategy. I work particularly closely with business owners, helping them integrate company and personal planning in a tax-efficient way, protect what they have built and prepare for future succession or exit.

Over the past 25 years I have worked with clients across several countries and financial systems. During that time I have also built and led advisory businesses internationally. This entrepreneurial background gives me a practical understanding of risk, growth, cash flow and long-term strategic thinking.

I work with a wide range of clients, from individuals and families looking to organise their finances and plan ahead, to experienced investors and business owners with more complex financial needs. Many value having a long-term adviser who helps them make informed decisions as their circumstances evolve.

Education and professional development

I hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS), awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.

Throughout my career I have completed several diplomas and professional qualifications through accredited institutions and universities across Europe and the UK, covering areas such as portfolio construction, wealth management, protection planning, inheritance tax planning, estate and succession planning, and the structuring of wealth for business owners and families.

In the UK my professional development has included continued study with the Chartered Insurance Institute as well as executive education at Oxford University, ensuring the advice I provide remains technically robust and aligned with evolving regulations and financial markets.

My approach

Clients can expect a calm, structured and commercially aware approach. I believe good financial advice should simplify complexity rather than add to it. My aim is always that clients understand why a strategy is in place and feel confident about the decisions they make. I work with clients across the UK, both in person and remotely, providing ongoing proactive support as their circumstances evolve.

Outside of work

Outside of financial planning I am passionate about strength training and athletic performance. I also compete in motorsport events and am an avid skydiver. Both require preparation, focus and respect for calculated risk — principles that also shape how I approach financial planning.
