Aim to maximise your cash savings

It might shock you to know that 28% of people hold their cash in interest-free savings accounts(1), receiving no return on their hard-earned money. Because under current rules a basic rate taxpayer can earn up to £1,000 in interest from their savings without paying tax, these people could be missing out on a significant financial boost that they could be enjoying.

This is even more relevant when you consider that the average person typically holds up to 25% of their available money on cash deposit(2). So, by reviewing your cash and tackling any ‘lazy money’, you’ll be making a great start at getting your finances in shape and achieving longer-term financial security.

If your money isn’t working as hard as it could, I can help. By making it easy to access potentially better interest rates, I can help you to aim to maximise your cash savings – giving you more money to spend on the things you enjoy or helping you grow your money towards a longer-term goal.

Geannine is based in South Shields and offers expert financial advice to suit your needs.

With a strong career in financial services and a Diploma in Financial Advice, I’ve built my practice around helping people gain clarity and confidence with their money. What drives me isn’t just the technical side of finance, but the real impact it can have on everyday lives - whether that’s giving a family peace of mind, supporting someone’s retirement goals, or helping clients protect what matters most.

My approach is holistic. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice. I take the time to understand your goals, challenges, and values so that the plans we build together truly reflect your life. My areas of expertise include pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning, ensuring that no matter where you are in your financial journey, you have a strategy designed for both today and the future.

Outside of work, I enjoy coastal walks, exploring new places, and reading about personal development. These interests keep me grounded and reflect the same themes of balance, growth, and long-term perspective that guide my advice. Financial planning can feel overwhelming, especially in a world full of jargon and conflicting information. That’s why my commitment is simple: to provide clear, structured, and professional advice that empowers you to make informed choices with confidence. I believe in building lasting relationships built on trust, transparency, and care - the same principles I’d want for my own family.
