Aim to maximise your cash savings

It might shock you to know that 28% of people hold their cash in interest-free savings accounts(1), receiving no return on their hard-earned money. Because under current rules a basic rate taxpayer can earn up to £1,000 in interest from their savings without paying tax, these people could be missing out on a significant financial boost that they could be enjoying.

This is even more relevant when you consider that the average person typically holds up to 25% of their available money on cash deposit(2). So, by reviewing your cash and tackling any ‘lazy money’, you’ll be making a great start at getting your finances in shape and achieving longer-term financial security.

If your money isn’t working as hard as it could, I can help. By making it easy to access potentially better interest rates, I can help you to aim to maximise your cash savings – giving you more money to spend on the things you enjoy or helping you grow your money towards a longer-term goal.

Financial planning shouldn’t be intimidating, as everyone needs it. I’m a supportive Financial Adviser who focuses on making complex decisions clear, realistic, and tailored to each of my client’s goals.

My role is to simplify complex financial matters and turn them into clear, practical plans that reflect what really matters to each client. With over 20 years’ experience across financial services, banking, mortgages, and property, I support individuals, families, and business owners at every stage of life - from building wealth to protecting it and planning for the future.

I provide holistic and practical advice across pensions, investments, protection, tax planning, wills and trusts, estate planning, and cash-flow forecasting. I believe good financial planning is built on strong relationships, open conversations, and regular reviews, particularly as circumstances and priorities change.

Clients value my calm, approachable style and my focus on long-term outcomes rather than short-term solutions. My aim is to give people clarity, confidence, and peace of mind, knowing they have a plan they can rely on - now and in the years ahead.

I value long-term relationships and believe the best outcomes are achieved through clarity, consistency, and ongoing review. I am adaptable and pragmatic, particularly when clients’ circumstances evolve, and I focus on advice that is robust, compliant, and aligned to long-term objectives.

Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Gemma and our 3 children. I also like running or walking the fells of the Yorkshire Dales and playing in a dominoes league for my village pub team.
