Quilter signs the Armed Forces Covenant

5 December 2018

Quilter plc is proud to announce it has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a Government supported initiative which reinforces Quilter’s commitment to supporting veterans, reservists and their families.

Quilter’s chief executive officer Paul Feeney and Brigadier Andy Wright signed the covenant with the support from HR Director Paul Hucknall and numerous employees at its London headquarters.

The covenant acts as a formal pledge by Quilter to demonstrate its support for the armed forces community by recognising the value veterans can bring to organisations.

Quilter has predominately done this so far through the Financial Adviser School by increasing awareness of careers in financial advice and the subsequent opportunities for people leaving the forces and looking for their next steps. Quilter has also mapped veteran competencies with its own roles, enabling the business to directly recruit from this pool of talent.

Quilter is also developing an internal military connections network to unite the advocates and act as a support network for veterans joining Quilter.

Quilter HR director, Paul Hucknall, said:

“I am very proud we’ve signed the Armed Forces Covenant as it not only develops diversity and adds valuable capability to our business but also celebrates the significant contribution these men and women have made to our country. Veterans exhibit many of the capabilities and values we as a business look for in our people and this initiative aims to support these people as they transition into their new careers.”

Quilter investment director, Rick Eling, said:

“After leaving the Royal Navy I still wanted to have a mentally stimulating career and thought that finance could suit my broad interests. The armed forces developed my organisation, persistence, planning, communication, and resilience, which have all been put into use during my career with Quilter. I am delighted that Quilter has signed the Armed Forces covenant and continues to support veterans.”
