Quilter Financial Adviser School launches level 6 chartered course and rebrands

24 September 2018

The Financial Adviser School (FAS) is pleased to announce that it has expanded its offering by now giving its students the opportunity to complete a level 6 financial advice qualification and to obtain their Advanced Diploma.

Alongside the new course, Quilter plc is also pleased to announce that FAS has rebranded to Quilter Financial Adviser School, following the rebrand of Quilter Private Client Advisers earlier this month.

FAS welcomed a qualified level 6 trainer to the team in April to develop the new programme and he will train the current cohort of students who started last week. The length of the level 6 programme will be approximately 19 months.

The FAS Advanced Diploma programme is available for the whole of market, to any adviser wishing to take the qualification. FAS also offers a training programme for the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and, in July 2017, it added a standalone programme for individuals to obtain their certificate in mortgage advice (CeMAP).

Head of Quilter Financial Adviser School, Darren Smith, says:

“We are very excited to be able to continue to support the growth of the financial advice market by now offering the level 6 qualification and to give our Diploma graduates the opportunity to become chartered members of the LIBF. Providing the market with additional avenues for progression is key to making sure more customers can benefit from a very high level of face to face financial advice.

“The new programme, which had our first cohort attend their induction last week, included advisers from firms who have used our Level 4 training to bring new advisers into their businesses as well as one of our Level 4 graduates. This new programme also coincides with our rebrand to the Quilter Financial Adviser School and the change of name gives us a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our brand within the industry and collaborate as part of the wider Quilter business.”

Michelle Andrews, Quilter chief marketing officer, adds:

“Quilter Financial Adviser School adds a huge amount of value to our brand. To have a business in our group that is dedicated to growing future financial planners for the UK advice sector is testament to our belief in the value of face to face advice.”
