Nigel Crawford
Head of Belfast Office
Nigel joined Quilter in 2008 and is head of the company’s Belfast office. Nigel has more than 30 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Northern Bank Limited.
He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Nigel’s interests include golf and travelling. -
Sean Raftery
Head of Birmingham Office
Sean joined Quilter in 1994 and is head of the company’s Birmingham office. He has over 25 years’ financial services experience having previously worked at Albert E Sharp.
He is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. -
Pamela Reid
Head of Bristol Office
Pamela joined Quilter in 1999 and is head of the company’s Bristol office and responsible for all new business projects. She has over 30 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Albert E Sharp.
She is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Pamela’s interests include walking, gardening and art. -
Alan Aitchison
Head of Edinburgh Office
Alan joined Quilter in 2011 and is head of the company’s Edinburgh office. He has over 38 years’ financial services experience having previously been head of the Edinburgh office of Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management and he worked for Edinburgh Fund Management.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is also a Chartered Wealth Manager.
Alan’s interests include sailing, golf and gardening and he is trustee of a number of charitable organisations. -
Alan Cameron
Head of Glasgow Office
Alan joined Quilter in 2001 and is head of the company’s Glasgow office. He has over 29 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Clydesdale Bank and Gerrard Investment Management.
He is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Alan’s interests include golf and travel. -
Tim Horrocks
Head of Leicester Office
Tim joined Quilter in 1999 and is head of the company’s Leicester office. He has over 25 years’ financial services experience having previously worked at Albert E Sharp and Henderson Crosthwaite.
He is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.
Tim’s interests include travelling, theatre and walking. -
Richard Thorn
Head of Liverpool Office
Richard joined Quilter in 1986 and is head of the company’s Liverpool and North Wales offices. He is also a trustee of The Quilter Foundation.
He started his career at Rathbones and is a Member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Richard’s interests include watching sport and particularly cricket which he also plays.

Colin Wickens
Investment Manager – North Wales Office
Colin joined Quilter in 2011 and is responsible for the investment management of portfolios for a diverse client base. He has over 25 years’ financial services experience, and was responsible for the establishment of Brewin Dolphin’s office in North Wales.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Colin recently served as the Chairman of The Board of Governors for a local School and is also Vice President of Llandudno Youth Music Theatre.

David Rothburn
Head of Manchester Office
David joined Quilter in 1993 and is head of the company’s Manchester office. He has over 25 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Charlton Seal and Bell Lawrie White.
David is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
David’s interests include squash and Manchester City Football Club. He is also actively involved in local charity work.

Paul Sexton
Head of Salisbury Office
Paul joined Quilter in 2010 and is head of the company’s Salisbury office.
He has more than 20 years’ financial services experience. Having qualified as a barrister, he joined the corporate finance department of Samuel Montagu & Co, before working for Banque Nationale de Paris Group as a director and as a Board member of Close Brothers Investment.
Paul is a Member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Paul has an interest in ‘positive’ investment and the impact of technology and politics on global resources.

Julian Menges
Joint Head of Managed Portfolio Service
Julian joined Quilter in 2010 and is joint head of the Managed Portfolio Service a position which he has held since January 2012. He has over 25 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Heartwood Wealth Management as head of portfolio management.
Julian is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a diploma holder of the Personal Finance Society.
Julian’s interests include running, tennis and gardening.

Benjamin Mountain
Joint Head of Managed Portfolio Service / Head of Investment Fund Research
Benjamin joined Quilter in 1999 and is head of investment fund research and joint head of the Managed Portfolio Service. Benjamin is also a member of the company’s asset allocation committee.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Benjamin's interests include sport, photography and wine tasting.

Nick Britnell
Team Leader - London Investment Management
Nick has over 20 years’ financial services experience and is responsible for a team of investment managers in the company’s London head office. He is also a member of the company’s asset allocation committee and investment group, contributing to the formulation of the company’s investment view.
He started his career on the Commercial Union Graduate Programme before joining Foster & Braithwaite, which was subsequently merged with Quilter Goodison.
Nick is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals and an Associate of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Nick’s interests include sailing, fishing and gardening.

Stephen has over 27 years’ financial services experience and is responsible for a team of investment managers based in the company’s London head office.
He is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Stephen’s interests include golf, rugby and travelling.

Ben Harwood
Team Leader - London Investment Management
Ben joined Quilter over 31 years ago and is responsible for a team of investment managers in the company’s London head office. He is a trustee of The Quilter Foundation.
He is a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Ben’s interests include fly fishing, tennis, skiing and walking having recently completed a 50 mile walk over the high passes of the Alps.

Tim joined Quilter in 2008 and is responsible for a team of investment managers in the company’s London head office.
He has over 25 years’ financial services experience including as a founding partner of a private client investment management business.
Tim’s interests include golf and cricket.

Andrew McGlone
Team Leader - London Investment Management
Andrew heads one of our London office teams, managing investments for private clients and trustees.
He also works extensively with our Compliance, Marketing, IT and Operations departments over a broad range of regulatory and strategic projects.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and has been with Quilter since 1994.

Vanessa Walduck
Team Leader - London Investment Management
Vanessa joined Quilter in 2000 and is responsible for a team of investment managers in the company’s London head office and is also one of the company's marketing advisers.
She has over 25 years’ financial services experience having previously worked for Gerrard Investment Management and is a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Vanessa is on the charity committee of her livery company, the worshipful Company of Founders.

Chris Meares
Chairman
Chris joined Quilter as Chairman in 2012.
He has considerable financial and private client experience both in the UK and internationally. Until his retirement in 2011, Chris was Chief Executive Officer, Global Private Banking, for the HSBC Group in London and Hong Kong.
Chris has a keen interest in many sports both as a participant and working with charities that provide less privileged children with access to sport as part of their education.

Martin Baines
Chief Executive Officer
Martin was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2003 having joined Quilter as an investment manager in 1994. A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, Martin has a degree in economics and more than 20 years' investment management experience.
Outside work, Martin enjoys fly fishing.

Stephen Vakil
Managing Director
Stephen is Managing Director and Head of the London Investment Management teams. Stephen started his career at L Messel & Co and, after a period at Chase Manhattan, joined Foster & Braithwaite in 1989 which merged with Quilter Goodison in 1996.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals. He is chairman of The Quilter Foundation.
Stephen’s outside interests include jazz and modern art.

Mark Macleod
Chief Financial Officer
Mark joined Quilter as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2012.
He is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 20 years’ experience as a finance professional working in the financial services sector. He joined Quilter from Climate Change Capital – an investment manager and financial adviser specialising in the low carbon economy where he was CFO and CEO.
Mark cares passionately about the environment and is also a keen amateur photographer.

Duncan Gwyther
Chief Investment Officer
Duncan is responsible for the company’s research and investment strategy. He joined Quilter in 1987 and has over 36 years' investment experience having previously worked for Barclays.
Duncan is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Banking and Chairman of the FTSE Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers Private Investor Indices Committee.
Duncan is a keen mountain biker and photographer.

David Loudon
Head of UK Regional Offices
David joined Quilter in 1993 and is responsible for the company’s regional office network. He has over 22 years’ investment management experience. He has overseen the recent expansion of Quilter’s regional office network, including offices in Edinburgh, Belfast, Salisbury and North Wales.
David is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Glenn Hawksbee
Head of Sales
Glenn joined Quilter in 1999 and is responsible for the regional development team of 18 who represent the regional office network of the company in the IFA market. He has been involved with intermediary sales for most of his career, in particular discretionary portfolio management.

Duncan Taylor
Head of Compliance
Duncan joined Quilter in 1995. He is responsible for overseeing compliance and regulatory risk within the company.
His compliance experience spans more than 20 years, having previously worked at Morgan Stanley and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Duncan is a qualified Company Secretary and Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Natalie Levine
Head of IT
Natalie joined Quilter in 1991 and was one of the primary developers of Quarrier, Quilter’s bespoke investment management system.
She was appointed head of IT and client services in 2008 and has more than 20 years' experience, specialising in finance information technology.

Linda Skinner
Head of HR
Linda joined Quilter in 1989 and assumed responsibility for personnel management in 1994. She was appointed Head of HR in 2003.
Linda is a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Linda has recently been a governor of a school and college providing education for young epileptic and severely handicapped children. Among many outside interests, Linda enjoys keeping fit and travelling.

Jane Seymour
Marketing Director
Jane joined Quilter Cheviot in February 2013 with responsibility of developing and implementing the company's strategy.
Jane has worked in financial services for over twenty years and previously worked at Rathbone Brothers as Group Marketing Director. Prior to this she was the founder partner at Seymours Consultancy, having previously held appointments at AXA and Bristol and West.
